Song: Missy's 2nd song
fast right? i just have to repeat it few more times, she can catch up already.
Missy now can sing "twinkle twinkle little stars" * i don't mean the whole songs, of course*
We go like this:
[Missy] twinkle twinkle little stars
[me] how i wonder what you [missy] are
[me] up above the world so [missy] high
[me] like a diamond in the [missy] sky
[me] twinkle twinkle little [missy] star
[me] how i wonder what you [missy] are
she also knows "1,2,3,4,5, once i caught a fish alive" she will bite my fingers at the end of the song. sometimes i just push her own finger into her mouth.. and she will giggle..
Happy singing !

Songs : Missy first songs
Usually, i will sing some songs for Missy during her bedtime. she will usually follow suit and sings the last word of the songs:
Some of our usual bedtime songs:
1. ni wa wa
2. xi sang ji you mama hao
3. close your eyes
4. hush baby
5. 1,2,3,4,5 once i caught a fish alive, she will bite my fingers at the end
6. twinkle little stars - seldom, i should sing more.
recently, i think since last week, we started "xiao zhu" & "yipee ye ye" and after two nights of singing, missy will demand for these 2 songs..
yesterday, when i sing, she follow me.. so i thought, maybe it's time i test her, see if she remembers the lyrics.. she is coping well in her vocab development and speech development.
The whole lyrics as below for xiao zhu, which i learnt during childhood time.
Xiao zhu xiao zhu fei du du -- little pig little pig, fat little pig
chi bao jiu sui hu lu lu -- after eating full, will go to sleep
jiao da chi lai -- when want to wake him up
da du chi zui -- he will snout his mouth
hu lu yi sen -- he will make a "hu lu" sound
bu bu bu -- and say "no no no"
here's my version wit missy
[me] Xiao zhu xiao zhu -- i pause [missy] fei du du
[me] chi bao jiu sui -- i pause [missy]hu lu lu
jiao da chi lai, da du chi zui [i sing these cos i thought maybe too complicated for her, i may be wrong though]
[me] hu lu yi sen
[missy]bu bu bu
wahahhaha.. simply AWESOME ! this morning we tested her again, she can even start with the first verse on her own "Xiao zhu xiao zhu, fei du du"
really fantastic ! missy's first songs.. we shall do more of these and i will video it.. maybe twinkle twinkle little stars next !

Bedtime reading: Slowly slowly slowly said the sloth

This week we have been reading Eric Carle's "Slowly slowly slowly said the sloth"
I must say LGG is good at reading books, i myself enjoy the reading so does Missy. she likes it whenever LGG starts with slowly slowly slowly.. heee..
Some short outline of the stories:
All the other animals in the rainforest want to know why the sloth is so slow, so quiet, so boring and so lazy. The sloth's reply is a good and surprising one - a philosophical statement in favour of slowness! Eric Carle is back, this time taking on this endangered creature in the heart of the Amazon rainforest.
Good book ! shall have our new book next week. Besides our weekly new book for our bedtime story, we still continue with either Good night moon, corduroy (books that missy is familiar with)

Bedtime Reading: Five Little Monkeys play hide & Seek

I borrowed this week from lib last week, thinking to have a change of bedtime story from our usual Goodnight moon. Not sure whether Missy will like this.
LGG started reading this week before we put missy to bed. hey, she loves it.. she even learn to say "Monkey" cute ! Glad she likes it.
The story is about a baby sitter playing hide and seek with 5 little monkeys:
Mama's out dancing, and Lulu, the babysitter, is in charge. The Five Little Monkeys are supposed to go to bed, but they convince Lulu there's time for just one game of hide-and-seek first . . . and then another, and another . . . until they discover the ultimate hiding place. Lulu is frantic; where can those monkeys be?
Vibrant, expressive illustrations in Eileen Christelow's signature style accompany a catchy rhymed text that's great for reading aloud. The refrain invites children to join in; as Lulu counts to 10, 24, and finally 104, young listeners will count along with her. And what little monkey can resist the idea of mischief at bedtime?

BFIR - GoodNight Moon
We have been reading goodnight moon/Corduroy/let's go for a bear hunt since February:
Goodnight Moon
So far, Missy loves all three of them. I think it's about time we start some of the book's related activities as suggested by BFIR programmes.
Got to find some time and effort to prepare the activities.. maybe we will do the age-appropriate activities by spreading it into a week's time.
Will update our activities here soon !
